Our struggles are regular opportunities to depend upon God for breakthrough. Joel predicts a plague of locusts that would crush Israel, bringing her to her knees in dependence upon God that He might bless her. This type of dependency will be seen in the future kingdom by an outpouring of God’s Spirit. Let’s investigate the uniqueness of this gift of the Spirit and its significance for us today as we regularly find ourselves in similar trials as Israel and completely dependent upon our God.
